COMING SOON: This section will soon contain a welcome video and tutorials that explain the entire process required to become a ReeBike approved host, what would be expected of you and your staff, what's in it for your business, and what the rental experience looks like from the rider's perspective and from yours as a host.
Our Host Location Program
We thank you for your interest in our Host Location Rental Program. Here we detail how the program works, what's in it for you as a potential Location Host, your level of involvement required, and how the rental system would work once you say yes and we accept you has a new host.

You are likely already aware of the very trendy nature of the e-mobility movement and the high demand for e-bikes and e-scooters by the general public. Feel free to read our section titled The Case for e-Bikes to learn more.

Since you are visiting this page, you were likely invited by a ReeBike representative to become a host so your acceptance is already halfway complete. The rest is now up to you to say Yes!
The Process of Hosting
In our context of renting e-mobility solutions to the public, our Host Location partners are viewed as an established and predictable pick-up and drop-off point for your guests to access our fleet of high-end luxury e-rides. Your business is NOT the actual equipment vendor as all of our riders must schedule and pay for their rides online PRIOR to picking up the rental equipment at your location. The booking can be done weeks in advance or immediately from a QR scan of a poster displayed in your facility. Your business accepts no direct payments on your internal system from our riders. This is akin to offering a taxi booking line and pickup stall at your facility. You are merely offering an amenity for the convenience of your guests.

Once a ride is booked, the rider shows your staff member (called an equipment inspector) the booking confirmation, their proof of ID, and credit card used to book the ride. Your staff then completes the Check-out report using our online Equipment Status Checkout form (accessible by approved staff only) to verify the unit's initial condition, and both the inspector and rider digitally sign the form to establish the baseline rental status of the unit. The guest is instructed to watch a basic equipment training video on the safe operation of the specific unit being rented while your staff collects the battery from the charging station (if not already installed), the keys, unit-specific instructional lanyard, and any rented accessories required.

The inspector then walks the guest to the rental unit, installs the battery (if not already installed), and happily sends the rider on the way.

When the guest returns the rental, an available and approved inspector receives back all of the rented equipment and accessories, performs a visual inspection report, and completes a new Equipment Status Check-in report using the Check-in form to verify the unit's returning condition compared to the initial condition, and both the inspector and rider digitally sign the form to establish the return status of the equipment.

All payments and security deposit refunds or damage charges are handled by us based on these inspection reports and involve no further requirements from your staff.
We have attempted to make the entire process easy and duplicatable for all stakeholders involved to make for a pleasant guest experience. Unlike the typical app-controlled street-side on-demand rental units scattered about the cities and towns of many tourist destinations, we aim to provide the very best rentals to a higher-end clientele who may be encouraged to spend more at your facility while visiting for one of our rental experiences.

What's in it for You?
In return for your host location status, you receive location publicity on our website, community goodwill, and a rental fee share of each ride booked, picked up, and returned to your location. The standard fee is a 15% location fee and a potential 15% bike manager fee depending on the desired level of staff involvement. There is also a 10% referral fee for new business actively referred by the host location or specific staff member who is given a unique referral code to drive new business. We suggest sharing these fees with each staff member involved in the hosting process as a spiff, tip, commission, or other defined incentive to assist riders with this new service. It's up to you to decide how to share these fees.
All liability for the equipment and rider accidents is assumed by the rider after agreeing to our comprehensive Rider Rental Agreement and payment of the security deposit and optional insurance riders. This includes theft, damage, or loss of the equipment while under an active rental booking. When stored and left idle at your location, a standard duty of care applies that your facility take reasonable precautions to safeguard and protect the equipment. Additional insurance could be considered but is not required by us to become a host.
All of our rental units have multiple embedded GPS locators to assist us in locating missing equipment. Combined with your video security footage, we are confident in the ability to mutually resolve any issues that do arise.

Space Requirements
To be approved as a ReeBike Host location, you would need to provide a storage and/or display area sufficient to safely house the number of rental units requested at your location. Each e-bike requires an area of about 7ft x 2ft to reasonable store and display the unit. Scooters require about 4ft x 1 ft in area. A typical fleet of 5 bikes will require an area of approximately 7ft x 10ft in size. There will also need to be a small area to store the chargers and accessories such as helmets, safety vests, locks, panier bags, gloves, and other amenities riders may require.
If displayed outside your facility during daytime hours, there should ideally be a covered area to keep the units out of direct exposure to rain or intense direct sunlight. Seats can become unpleasantly hot for the rider if left in direct sunshine. Finally, there will need to be a place with access to a standard electrical outlet with power surge bar to charge the batteries either while installed on the unit or while removed and charged behind a desk or in a storage area.
A series of custom posters provided by ReeBike must be displayed in a prominent area to advertise, promote, and instruct prospective riders on how to self-register and book their own rides.

Optional Custom Branding & Sponsorship
Many facilities such as hotels and campgrounds have requested that the rental units be branded with their location logo, website, and phone number. This is possible upon request on a per unit basis. Some rental units have front and/or rear carry baskets that are ideal for branded signage. Others may be outfitted with handy panier bags, flags, or even decals to promote your brand as the host location. We have advertising sponsorship memberships and other programs that can be tailored to your needs. Simply let us know your interest and we'll collaborate on an ideal solution.
The Rental Experience - Summarized
Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
Step 4
Rider visits our Rentals page or scans a QR code from a poster, or on the side of the rental unit, reviews the available options, chooses a location host, and picks the desired rental equipment Unit ID.
Rider completes all the booking instructions, schedules the date, time, pick-up location, and equipment ID, and then pays the associated fees to reserve the ride. This can be done on-site or weeks in advance.
Rider visits the Host Location 15 minutes in advance of the scheduled time, provides the booking confirmation, ID, and proof of payment method to the host equipment inspector who then completes the Equipment Status Checklist. Host staff hands over the rented equipment to the rider.
Rider returns to the Host Location at the end of the ride. The host staff completes the Equipment Status Checklist, receives back all rented equipment, returns it to storage, connects the charger, and maintains the equipment as needed.
